How MoneyAtlas works

MoneyAtlas is an independent Singapore financial comparison and education platform. Our promise is narrow and testable: every figure traces to an official source, we take no paid placement in any ranking, and where we can’t verify something we mark it or leave it out rather than guess. This page explains where the numbers come from and how we rank — so you can judge the work, not just trust it.

1

Where our numbers come from

  • Official sources only. Premiums, rates, fees and benefits are read from the insurer’s, bank’s or fund manager’s own published pages and PDFs, and from government bodies — MAS, CPF Board, IRAS, MOH, SGX and the SDIC. We do not copy figures from other comparison sites or blogs.
  • Every material figure is cited. The comparison and guide pages carry a “verified” strip listing the exact sources behind the data, with links, and the date each was last checked.
  • We suppress rather than fabricate. If a provider doesn’t publish a number, or its page can’t be verified, we show “not published” and say so — we never fill a gap with an estimate dressed up as fact. Where we do model something (for example a tax-drag estimate), we label it an estimate and show the assumptions.
2

How we rank — and how we don’t

  • No paid placement, ever. No provider can pay to rank higher, be featured, or be added. Rankings are produced purely by the numbers you enter into our calculators and the published data behind each product.
  • We rank on the honest field, not the headline. A “zero-commission” broker still has platform fees; a “1.65%” deposit can blend to 1.50% once an earmark is counted; a cheaper ETF can cost a Singaporean more after dividend withholding tax. We normalise these — GST, tax drag, earmarks, tiers — so like compares with like.
  • We keep different things visibly different. A projected yield, a guaranteed rate and a past return are never ranked as if they were the same number; distinct underlying data is never flattened into an identical-looking row.
3

How current the data is

Rates and premiums change. Fast-moving pages — fixed deposits, savings accounts, cash management and endowment tranches — are refreshed on a monthly cycle, and each carries the date it was last verified. Slower-moving comparison data (insurance premiums, fund expense ratios) is re-checked when providers republish. If a figure looks out of date, the “verified” date on the page tells you exactly how old it is — and you should always confirm the live figure with the provider before acting.

4

Who is behind MoneyAtlas

MoneyAtlas is researched and maintained by the MoneyAtlas Research team — the editorial process that gathers, verifies and normalises the data on this site against the standards above. Comparison and guide content is attributed to that process, and each page shows when it was last verified.

We believe you should be able to see the working, which is why the sources sit on every page rather than in a disclaimer. If you spot a figure you believe is wrong or out of date, tell us and we’ll check it against the official source — corrections are published openly.

What MoneyAtlas is not

  • Not financial advice. The comparisons, calculators and guides are general information and education. They don’t account for your full circumstances and are not a personal recommendation. For advice tailored to you, speak to a MAS-licensed financial adviser.
  • Not a product seller. MoneyAtlas doesn’t sell insurance, investments or deposits, and doesn’t handle your money. When you choose to be connected to a licensed adviser, that’s a separate, consented step — and we tell you exactly what is shared and why.
  • Not deposit insurance or a guarantee. Investment products shown here are not SDIC-insured, and past or projected returns are not promises. We flag this on every relevant page.

MoneyAtlas provides general financial information and comparison tools for education, not financial advice or a recommendation of any product or provider. Figures are compiled from official sources on the dates shown and can change without notice — always confirm with the provider before acting. For advice tailored to your circumstances, consult a MAS-licensed financial adviser.
